4Great product just two thingsJul 23, 2010
By Z.Buenas "prdeziner"
PROS: Very nice size machine not too bulky it fits on a table top. Warms up quickly. Various laminating roll thicknesses. Very fast when compare to other laminators. Nice for inhouse use. Laminates beautifully, colors pop and there is little issue with wrinkled or crooked laminating. Very sturdy lamination. Constraints of course are the width, but fits a tabloid which is plenty for our marketing department. CONS: The fan is a little loud but not terrible. I was laminating for a while and had to feed several of the posters one after the other and it started squeaking something terrible, not sure what that is about but it happens on and off. The reason you have to feed several one after the other is to prevent wasting laminating film, which can be up to 6 inches of wasted film because it has to feed out in order to cut the paper. CONCLUSION: I wanted to give it a 4.5 because of the issues I described are really not major, but you can't do that here and it is not perfect so I cannot give it a 5 :). I would definitely recommend this product!

5Works Great, loading film is a bit trickyDec 23, 2010
By P. Scott
Heats up fast - really fast. That part is nice. Our old pocket laminator took quite a while to warm up and cool down. Also, the machine is easy to use once the film is installed. Which brings me to the machines only downside -

The cons: Tricky to load the laminate, and therefore change the laminate. I have had to do it twice since we received the machine, and each time I feel like I am reinventing the wheel. I do have to admit the 2nd time was a little better. So maybe the next time I will only have to re-read the directions twice!

Once the film is loaded, the machine is quick and easy to use. I would recommend it. Just make sure you have that friend or coworker who enjoys "figuring things out" close at hand when you have to install new film rolls, and you will be happily laminating.

5Great Product except for...Dec 19, 2011

This laminator is a great product overall and is one of the best we've used. The quality of the construction used when making this unit is very sturdy and is a solid machine. It dosn't jam, it dosn't break down, and it works each and every time you need to laminate.

We've used this unit for approx. 2 years and there are a few drawbacks to owning this model. First is the excess laminate that gets wasted when you first start a new lamination. There is approx. an 8 1/2" X 11" piece of laminate that is left over after each job, and needs to be cut off and discarded. Second, loading a new roll of laminate can be quite difficult. It's not that easy and can be quite confusing if you don't know what you're doing. I would highly recommend watching the video on how to change the laminate. Also, The heat shield on the front leaves a little to be desired. It takes some wiggling and proper placement to get this thing to stay on, but once on, everything is good. Make sure that the unit is cooled down before attempting to load. I made that mistake once after removing the heat shield, and got burned. (Not bad, but it was enough to make you say ouch for a day). The cost of the replacement laminate can be a drawback as well, but overall, for the price,(approx $75 per roll) you're getting a lot more laminate per roll than you would if you had to purchase boxes of the individual laminate sheets.

Other than that, I would highly recommend this product to any small business or home office. It's WAAAAAAY better than having to use those stupid laminate sheets that you have to load one sheet one at a time. With the GBC EZload, you can laminate 50 sheets without stopping. It's fast and easy to use! Once you get the hang of it, this machine will be the last laminator you'll ever have to buy.

5love it....from a homeschool mom and sunday school teacherApr 11, 2011

I searched for the perfect lamination machine for me to be able to use for school projects and I have now owned this laminator for one year and love it. I have gone through two sets of rolls, thats how much I use it and it has never let me down. I highly recommend it! Really easy to use and really easy to load the rolls.

1DOAOct 11, 2010
By Pamela M. Shaner "PamShaner"
My product arrived with the "test" sheet laminating inside the machine. I ordered different size film for this machine so my first mission was to remove the film it was packed with and replace it with what I bought.

The machine will get power into the back as indicated on the power light. The machine will not however, allow film to move in or out of it with the forward/reverse buttons. It is physically impossible to remove the film from the machine any other way - trust me.

My GBC rep was evasive at best about wanting to help me troubleshoot the machine over the phone. Refused to connect me with their tech support department. She originally told me my only option was to pay for repair to come on-site and only offered replacement when I told her my machine never actually turned on or functioned.

GBC also said it will take one full day to set up my account there then they can give me the replacement procedures but my machine definitely will need to be replaced.

At this point I am very disappointed and frustrated with the whole process and my one star review is generous.
