Ideal for multiple computersMay 22, 2008

This product is great. I have it connected to multiple computers and I have also connected this product to a USB hub with multiple printers so I can print from any one of the computers to the printer that I select. It comes with software, but it works without the software for Windows XP and Vista Operating Systems. Although it is not an automatic switch, the manual switch works great for what it does. It's awesome!!!!

It's okay, but...Mar 08, 2007
By rlbrandner installs easily and works well if just trying to print. I am using it as a hub to 3 computers and for the most part it does what it says. On the downside, the printer is an HP Officejet All-in-One, and the hub does not work well with the HP software with regard to electronically faxing or scanning when switching between computers. More often than not, I get a communication error causing me to reboot the computer and the printer. I'm thinking of spending the extra cash and going full wireless for full functionality. If you just want to share a generic print function, it does do the job, and is a low cost solution.

USB Print SwitchFeb 14, 2009
By Walt Bujaryn This is used in a professional (rental) audio visual environment. We need to share a printer with up to four laptops and cannot install software on the computers. This of course mandates Windows XP minimum and that the shared printer appear in that OS. This is the ONLY application we have used for the device. Not perfect because it doesn't auto switch, but we've never found a USB switch that does (the older Centronics switches did). Still, all things considered, the hot key toggle (enabled with NO software install) is a good compromise, you do not need an external power supply (important), the unit works well and it's as good as any device for the purpose we've found...

Works as advertised!Jun 30, 2008
By Arthur I have a Dell 3100CN and a Canon MP830 that I needed to link up to three laptops. As other reviews have mentioned, the only thing that would make this perfect if it automatically switched. Instead, you manually press the button on the hub, but I knew this when I bought it so I give it five stars for doing what it states well, its small profile, and ease of use and setup! I would definitely recommend this product.
