Thoughtful design + affordable priceMar 29, 2008
By Caramalizer Good, clean design and layout. Flexible enough to accommodate up to 6 power bricks without blocking the other outlets (4 on the wide face, 2 more on the ends of the narrow face). A "Not Grounded" warning light is a great feature that provides additional peace of mind.
I mounted it on the underside of my desk to get all the wires off the floor. The thoughtful design extends to the keyhole for screw mounting which gives you the option of forward or sideways engagement. It works even better when upside down because the cables hang down instead of draping over.
On the quality side, the on/off switch feels flimsy, and 3 prong, grounded plugs take some effort to pull back out. Belkin probably figured these actions aren't frequent enough to warrant complaint, i.e. most people just plug in, switch on, and forget about it for the next three years, and cost reduced these components to keep the price down. It's a good compromise. I'm very pleased with the product and the price!

Functional with lots of outletsJun 28, 2007
By Dave Mak This compact power strip is as stylish as a power strip can be. The power cord is long and has a flat 90 degree plug which is convenient when you are using an outlet behind the a couch or furniture.

Form and function at it's bestApr 03, 2007
By Dan My old surge protector was getting in my way with it's flat design and a mess of cords drapping over it. With this surge protector, I have said good-bye to all of those problems. The shape is what makes this protector so funtional. The sockets aren't all tightly packed and difficult to access. With four on the side and four on top, it's very easy to reach in and unplug or plug in cords without getting tangled up in the others. This is a great product for the design and the funtionality of it. Worth the price.

Cute power strip that offers style and protectionJun 29, 2009
By buru buru piggu I have 6 other Belkins in my house, most of them being Belkin Components F9M923-08 9-Outlet Maximum SurgeMaster units, as well as several from other makers. I bought this particular model because of the compact shape, cute space-saving design, and overall positive experience with the Belkin brand. It is easily the most attractive powerstrip I own, and comes with a few very thoughtful design elements that my others don't have.
It doesn't take up much space at all and sits flush against any wall, quietly out of the way. My other surge protectors and roundish and flat, making themselves very conspicuous and hard to hide.
This Belkin manages to fit 8 plugs into a small form factor. My full-sized SurgeMasters fit 9. Spaced at 1.75 inches apart, the ports on the side offer enough room for even my biggest and ugliest AC adapters. Plugging the adapters in this way also acts as a weight, not that tipping over is a concern. The product has contoured "wings" for added stability.
The LED status light is a pleasant green. The On/Off switch has a nice click sound to it, and a good solid feel. Overall construction and build quality is likewise excellent. The plastic housing is thick and durable looking, with a nice, neutral white color that'll fit into any office or home environment. If Belkin decides to make these in fun colors, I'd gladly buy another one.

Excellent ProductJun 18, 2009
By Stephen Alexander This is an awesome product and has a great $200,000 warranty for equipment connected to it. I used this surge protector to protect a new 50" plasma T.V. I bought and also a 5.1 Surround Sound / Blu-Ray player. I have used Belkin products before and they seem to overall have a good reputation to make quality products. The best thing about this product is the sliding outlet protector when not in use: since we have kids around the house they often tend to stick things in the outlet- with this surge protector it is not a huge issue. This surge protector is designed very well and appeals to me as a quality piece of equipment. The surge protector also clearly states when the product is not grounded and when it is protected with (2) bright colors of green for "protected" and red for reset, "not grounded". In a recent power outage which plagued my entire city for 2 days the surge protector did a great job of protecting my equipment. Some people had issues with computer's not turning on and even had to replace their power supply on their desktops- most likely caused by a surge and components not plugged into a surge protector. Though I am not sure if I had a surge in my equipment- the surge protector did its job for the most part and protected the equipment attached to it flawlessly, providing a constant, consistent flow of power when power resumed to normal. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality and well designed surge protectors which match the decor of modern homes very well, the surge protector gives me peace of mind when I am not constantly monitoring my power, and it also gives me a warranty which protects all of my equipment up to 2130 Joules & of course $200,000.
