When my printer told me I needed a new waste cartridge, I assumed I had to buy a new one. Uggh. Therefore I did.
Now, I just learned from Samsung that these things can be emptied. Turn it upside down into a waste basket (preferably lined with a plastic bag) and tap it and you may be able to use it again. Only if this procedure fails do you need to buy a new one.
I wish I had known that.

Needed to have it. Wish it was something you could just empty but tried everything but needed to replace it. Would recommend that you buy an extra.

If you think that you can clean the old Samsung CLT-W409 in order to save money, you are mistaken. Every time that this unit fills up, one must buy a new one to replace it. So, do not waste your time, buy one as soon as possible. I bought my through Amazon and I received it within two days. Great customer service!
Sometimes, we try to save money by not replacing the parts. That could mean losing more money and time. One must learn that a new unit will do the job accordingly. Do not waste time! Get your CLT-W109 when you need it!

The waste toner bottle was practically empty after going through the first set of ink cartridges. Maybe I'll need a waste toner bottle next time.
