Good, solid, comfortable chairNov 17, 2006
By S. Kranz Bought this chair to replace a lesser chair that finally gave out. This chair feels solid, and is plenty wide enough for those with extra-wide seats of our own, as opposed to some of the chairs at Staples...even the $180-200 jobs...that felt pretty tight. I agonized over spending this much but decided it was time for a nicer chair. The warranty literature says it is intended for normal commercial use (e.g. 8 hours a day) by users of 250 lbs. or less. I tip the scale a little higher than that, but I'm using mine at home so it'll only get a couple of hours a day of use at the most.
The mesh back is firm and supportive, and doesn't feel as though it will give out over time. The mesh is also "coated" with what feels like a soft vinyl coating, kind of like a Lafuma chair if you've ever sat in one of those.
I like the lumbar support which is height-adjustable, but I have to remember to sit up straight to get the benefit of it...I tend to slide down in any chair and change positions frequently.
The seat cushion is comfortable enough, but IMHO for the money it could stand to have some more depth. This is the only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars.
Assembly was simle and straightforward.
The arm rests are height-adjustable, and comfortable.
The rocking/reclining motion of the back is separate from the seat, in that the back reclines at a rate that's twice that of the seat. It feels comfortable and natural.
Solid, comfortable good priceApr 28, 2012
By Anthony D. Zahler I Bought this chair because I had one at work, used it for 6 months AND still liked it for all day comfort. It feels solid, is wide enough and sturdy enough to handle my 250 lbs for the last year with no issues. The warranty says it is intended for normal commercial use (8 hours a day) by users of 250 lbs. or less.
The mesh back is firm and supportive, and doesn't feel as though it will give out over time. The mesh is also "coated" with what feels like a soft vinyl coating. I like the lumbar support which is height-adjustable. After dozens of days working from home, always felt supportive and no back aches!
The seat cushion is really comfortable and after over a year, still feels the same . The arm rests are easy to adjust, soft and comfortable. The reclining motion of the back is separate from the seat It feels comfortable and natural. Assembly was simple and straightforward.
After using the real Aeron chairs and all the other commercial chairs over the years, you would be hard pressed to find another chair for the price as comfortable.
