Not quite what I had hoped for.Jan 28, 2011
By A. D. Lawlor I think it's important to note that the price of this toner is about 1/3 the cost of the re-manufactured toner I get through our local office supply company and 1/4 the cost of a genuine HP Laserjet toner.
So, while the price is attractive, I still have a couple of issues with this product.
The first thing I noticed was that the toner cartridge and box are labeled with a 38A/42A label that indicate "for use on 4200, 4250, 4350" printers.
I specifically ordered a product that was intended for the HP Laserjet 4250. I did not see any indication in the ad that suggested the cross compatibility with other model printers. This isn't a huge problem but I found it a little troubling just the same. After reviewing the advertisement on Amazon, I do not see anything that indicates that the toner would be a 38A/42A compatible product.
Next, upon insertion into the printer I received a warning that the product was not a genuine HP toner. I've been buying re-manufactured toner for years and have never had this error come up on the printer.
The error shows up on both HP 4200 and HP 4250 printers.
Both printers allowed me to print but the quality of ink coverage is far less that I expected. What would normally appear as dark gray bars are very light gray when printed with these cartridges. Even adjusting the print quality and toner density to the highest levels only improved the look of the output minutely.
While the toner cartridges do seem to work, they just don't measure up. I can't yet say anything about longevity but I'm not optimistic at this point.
I wanted to add that the product was shipped promptly.

Very Happy Customer!May 19, 2009
By R. Schank I would just like to say that I am very happy with the item. I purchased the HP LaserJet cartridge for my job and we are a non-profit organization, and every doller counts. This product was the best price by far what I found. I would like to say that I'm very happy also with customer service, I had a question which was answered right away. My agency will be ordering from them here on out.
Thank you,
Very Happy customer........

Printer cartridgeMar 20, 2010
By M. Flieg I have used other than HP original products and have had problems. With the originals I don't. I get between 9500 and 10800 pages from each cartridge. Just wish they where not so expensive.

Works goodNov 26, 2009
By PhotoBuff Bought from J&R for $140, other places wanted $180. Used with the LaserJet 4250, 50% of printouts were using toner saver mode, the majority was 5% coverage, total printouts was about 14,000.
