Though the drum is expensive, I'm not ready to replace my (still-functioning-flawlessly) printer that requires it. The drum lasts several years (much longer than the color cartridges). And apparently longer if you print in color only when absolutely necessary. So I've set my printer's default setting to black & white.

Our color printer, which we use every day, would not work. Our computer guru figured out that we needed a new drum. He discovered we could buy it from Amazon. We ordered it, online, and we received it amazingly fast and are very pleased.
