Felt some angst that I couldn't afford a Rotatrim, but this has turned out to be perfect for my needs (mainly trimming out photos, both traditionally printed and on heavier fine art inkjet papers). This is not like the lightweight plastic-y trimmers you may have seen in craft stores, but rather a solid machine clearly designed for heavier use.
Operation is simple and reliable with no wiggle or blade skewing. Overall device is heavy enough that the 4 rubber pads on the bottom keep it in place while you work. Size guides in addition to the gridlines printed on the cutting board are helpful. The removable magnetic holding bar is powerful and will hold your artwork exactly where you put it, so best to position correctly first rather than expecting to be able to make small adjustments with the bar down. Haven't had to replace a blade yet, but seems easy enough when the time comes.
All in all a great, heavy-duty tool at a fraction of the price of the Rotatrims.

I am cutting paper rectangles which are mounted on 3/32" foamcore. The cuts need to be square and precise.
I needed a precise, large paper cutter which did not significanly move or deform the material during the cut. A rotating blade can be smoother than a 'scissor' blade and it handles thicker items without pulling. This cutter holds the material so that it not pulled or deformed during the cut. The sight-line for the cut is excellent, allowing very precise positioning. The bed is large enough to handle most of my jobs without pre-cutting.
Having replaceable cutting surfaces and blades is a big plus, as it allows continued precise cuts, even over long usage of the cutter.
The cost, while high for a paper cutter, is acceptable for my application.

I have had this product a very short time and was very anxious to use it on a very large quantity of pictures . The task would have been daunting; but, in a matter of about 30 minutes, I finished the job. Now I look back on all the wasted time I spent painstakingly trimming my projucts with my old trimmer. I realize now that I should have gotten it much sooner. It's easy to use and guarantees a clean job.

I have arthritis and find it hard to cut through Davey board and other chipboard products...this tool is excellent for cutting cleanly through materials. Additionally, its "lock-down" apparatus keeps things from slipping....and the grid allows you to select the size with minimal measuring. All in all, a great product!
