This trimmer is one of the best that I have used. The locking mechanism holds the paper in place makes this cutter unique. I cut 10 sheets of cardstock at one time and didn't have to worry. Also the magnet can be placed so all the paper will be the same size.
This paper cutter is very easy to use.

I use this trimmer for cutting 8 1/2 x 11 photo paper down to 8 x 10 and A3 photo paper down to 11 x 14 to fit in standard frames. It does the job and is better than some others I've used, but I've found you still need to "peel" the trim from the main page. It does the job so I don't have any complaints about that and I needed this larger size for the larger paper I use, but I have used some trimmers where the trim just falls off once it's cut. Don't expect it to do that and for that reason I can only give this 4 stars.

This trimmer is fabulous. The cuts are precise and clean. Most of our exhibit labeling is printed, mounted and cut by professional companies. This trimmer allows us to produce quick short-term exhibits that still have the professional look.

Like the other reviewers on Amazon, I am very impressed with the CARL Heavy-Duty Rotary Trimmer. The locking mechanism on the trimmer arm means no ruined cuts due to the paper moving; the magnetic clamp can be used as a paper gauge to make consistent cuts or as another clamp for the paper (not that it's really needed); and the blade cuts thru multiple sheets of paper almost effortlessly.
My only gripe with the Heavy-Duty trimmers is the lack of selection of cutting blades. For this series only a straight cutting blade and a perforation blade are available. Compare this to the lower end Professional series, where 8 different "craft" blades are available to add decorative edges to your cuts. I don't understand why the more expensive line of trimmers would end up with less function than a lower end product. But for what it does the CARL Heavy-Duty Trimmer is exemplary, so I still consider it a successful product.

We shopped long and hard for the perfect paper cutter. This is IT!! Clean, crisp, accurate cuts with all the tools to ensure the paper doesn't move. No more curved cutts! It's great.
