Does what it says it will do...Jul 28, 2006

First of all, I must start out by saying that I am a little surprised that this little mechanical device is even necessary with all of the technological advances out there these days. The HL-10 is kind of a "throw back to the seventies" in terms of its jerry rigging function. Having said this... Plantronics builds quality stuff and I am sure that there is a good reason for it. The device does exactly what it is supposed to do once you adjust it for your individual phone. I was a little concern that it would fit my phone but they include plenty of adjustment options to take care of any setup. I am using it with a Plantronics CS351N headset - which I love for it professional wireless function. I tested the HL-10 by picking up/hanging up the headset 10 times in sucession and the lifter raised and lowered the receiver successfully each time. That was good enough for me. Definitely worth the $ if you own a wireless headset and you roam around the house/office while talking on the phone.

No good for RCA Executive Series 4 line phonesMay 26, 2007
By Matthew S. Kennedy I use the Plantronics Voyager 500A, which is great. The handset lifter is an obvious fit so you don't have to lift the receiver from the cradle each time. However, if you are using the RCA Executive Series - 4 line phone, or for that matter any phone hand set that does not have a high arch, the "Lifter" can not fit under the handset. The handset will not sit in the cradle or slides off the cradle. The added extender arm that comes with the Lifter does not cure the problem. I had to send the unit back for a refund. Great idea though, but know that is will not well or at all on such phones.

! This Really Works !Jan 17, 2012
By Steve Yager !This is a Great Product! I read all the bad reviews and nearly decided on a whole different phone system altogether. The Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter works very well with my Plantronics CS540 Wireless Headset. It was very easy to install and looks good on my CISCO SPA504G VoIP Phone I received from VoIP Your Life. Although the three cords do not look bad , I chose to use 7 inches of black Techflex CCP1.00BK Flexo Clean Cut 1-Inch Braided Cable Sleeve to clean up the installation. I would definitely recommend this combination.

Still Working After 3 Years! Highly Recommended!Apr 27, 2010

We bought the Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter to go with our Plantronics CS-55 Dect 6.0 Digital Wireless Office Headset and have been very pleased with both devices. Using the handset lifter give you the ability to answer calls directly from the wireless headset, which is good if you spend a lot of time away from the physical phone to which the headset unit is connected.
Setup was amazingly easy, just following the directions allowed us to get this installed in just a few minutes on our very inexpensive no-name speaker phone.
Like our Plantronics Headset, this has passed the test of time and I would buy a new one if it failed today.
Highly Recommended!

Don't work at home without it!Oct 29, 2012

My wife and I both work from home, and both have Plantronics wireless headsets. After recovering from the sticker shock, we very quickly realized the value of this little add-on. It is so handy to NOT have to reach for the phone and lift the handset. We can answer the phone from anywhere in the house, as long as we have the headset on. I have the same headset in my corporate office workstation, but don't have the lifter there - it's really annoying to have to fumble for lifting the handset when answering a call, which I really didn't appreciate until I got the auto-lifter. We've had ours for several years, and never had any problems. As usual, Plantronics is high quality stuff.
The only problem I had with this, is the 2-sided tape used to attach the lifter to the phone. Not a good idea, so I used sticky-back velcro instead. This makes it a lot easier to remove and/or reposition the lifter. Especially handy when you change phones (which we have done twice since installing the lifters).
I would definitely replace mine if it was stolen by extraterrestrial aliens.
