I bought these bookends hoping they were as sturdy as advertised and they are. They're not fancy but I didn't need that. They easily hold in place large hard-back books.

I love these bookends. They do a great job of keeeping my books from falling off of the selves. The bottoms are padded so that they won't scratch, and they are simple, but effective.

I was looking for a pair of bookends that would prop up a lot of weight, hold together well, and stay in place. I also needed a pair that would take up a minimal amount space to allow for more books on the shelf. These bookends are the simply the best at those tasks! If you are looking for ornate or decorative bookends then look elsewhere. But in my experience those ornate ones are usually clunky, take up too much room on your shelf, and do a very poor job of staying in place. And personally I like the fact that these black metal bookends are so thin you hardly see them! It looks as if your books are standing upright on their own! Awesome product, made of great quality, and at a great price! I highly recommend them!

I go out of my way to find this type book-end. I like the tall sturdy design so that my art books are held in place properly. I now buy a set for different subject books, i.e. drawing - painting in oil - Photoshop - heavy computer books - etc. Both soft cover as well as hard cover are held properly. The metal book-ends have non-skid bottoms that won't allow any skidding when the book count gets heavy.
Until Amazon started carrying this product I found it hard to locate at times. I highly recommend this taller version unless you just have regular height paperbacks; then there is a shorter model offered. Either way you won't go wrong.
