5Easy to useOct 03, 2008
By Mr. Mac "Mr. Mac"
I have wanted a labeling device for some time and always thought of them as plastic strips with pressed letters. These labels are great and so easy to make. I choose this one as it comes with an ac adapter which is about another $30 dollars for the ones without. At $45 it was less than a $20 labeler plus adpater. As other reviewers state, the machine is the cheap part, the tape is the expensive part. Check the cutting settings so you don't waste tape. I have not used the software that comes with this as those capibilities at this time exceed my needs. I leave it plugged in and it is reay to go. After a short period of non-use it goes to sleep. I am using the labels for cords and transfomers around my computer, labeling items, and will soon use them on file folders. At that time I may find uses for the software. All yo do is type in your info, if you need more than one line hit enter. Easy preview. You just have to remember to hit enter after every entry in the menu. The info remains so you can print it again or easily clear. I recommend it.

5Great ToolSep 30, 2008

Brother PT-2100 PC-Connectable Labeling System with AC adapter What a great purchase. I am in the process of sorting & labeling everything that has gathered in my garage for a number of years. This labeler is easy to use and I have had no problems as yet with it. I had 2 old hand labelers that just were too much hassle to use. I just take my PT-2100 to the garage with me,plug it in,and I am ready to roll.A must-have for organizing.

We use this label maker at work and so far it's been a reliable workhorse. I see no problem with the quality of the output text - it is clear and sharp and evenly spaced and aligned. This labeler has text and margin setting that you can adjust so that you don't waste tape. The result is a label that has no extra lead in out or lead out excess tape and your labels are centered perfectly. It prints up to 3 lines and it includes the AC adapter which is a big plus. I reserved the 5th star since I have not used the USB PC connectivity feature. I don't have patience for hard to use gadgets but this is very easy to use.

5Fantastic Labeling SystemJun 01, 2009

Brother PT-2100 PC-Connectable Labeling System with AC adapter

This is the best system I have ever used, practically a plug and play. The LED window helps me to keep track of and get rid of those nasty typos as I go along, an extremely easy device to read. The window above lets you know at a glance what tape is in the lable maker and gives a sample of what that particular size will look like.

Many have made comments about the long tags when you start and stop the printing. Be sure to read the instructions in the book on how to take care of that. When I have a lot of labels to make I will enter four extra spaces between each item. I print out the whole long list and then cut the individual titles apart. This is extremely easy to do because of the backing on the tape. Sharp finger nails and tweezers are no longer needed.

Only problem with all the label making I have been doing, is I now have to buy more tape. :-) Enjoy.

4Labeling made simpleFeb 16, 2010

I purchased the Brother PT-2100 several months ago because I wanted a label machine that I could connect to my PC AND it was on sale through one of Amazon's special Gold Box deals or Daily Deals. Well I am finally getting my home office organized and finally hooked up the machine. It was a breeze, read through the manual, followed the step by step instructions and Bada Bing, it worked.

I recently started doing real estate investing and had put a list of house addresses into an excel spreadsheet and all I had to do was select the cells that I wanted to print, right click, choose labeler from drop down, then print my labels. I first previewed the labels and decided to edit them and add a clip art to the labels, it was pretty easy. It took me all of 10 minutes clicking through the screens to see how things worked (probably would have been faster to look in the manual), I was able to create a standard label that I then applied to the other labels I printed by simply pushing a button.

The only con is that I wish the front screen had a light in it so I could read it easier. The location of the labeler does not have the best light so I have to move it if I need to read the screen. Not really necessary to read the screen when using the PC because everything displays on the PC, but I also used it to manually type a label and the back lighting would have been key.

Nice product and has made getting multiple files folders together a breeze and has saved me time, which I don't seem to have much of these days.
