1Logitech keyboard coated with chemicalAug 31, 2010
Please do not buy this Logitech Classic Keyboard 200 USB.

I bought one last year -- I used to be a huge fan of Logitech products. But the keyboard was coated in a strong-smelling chemical. No big deal, I thought, it will wear off. Then I noticed that the chemical was making my asthma worse, and giving me a burning feeling in my hands.

I could tell that the keyboard was coated in this chemical. The chemical just didn't go away, even months after buying the keyboard.

Now I didn't complain to Logitech. I figured it was a one-time problem keyboard. But a Logitech mouse I purchased a few months later has the same problems. I'm guessing that very few of us want to type with our keyboards and mice wrapped in thick plastic taken from Ziploc bags to keep a chemical off our hands.

I finally complained to Logitech about the keyboard and the mouse, and they offered to send me a refund. I told them I didn't want a refund. I want them to do an internal investigation of their supplier and find out who is ruining their great products by coating them with this obnoxious chemical.

This is a great shame, as I was a lifetime buyer of Logitech products. But not anymore. Not until they get this problem fixed. If you have anyone in your home with asthma or allergies, or you have children or pets, do not buy this keyboard.

3Cheap Compact, but adequateAug 27, 2010

PRO :Classic and cheap keyboard without all the short-cut add-ons that a lot of vendors keep slapping onto newer and expensive keyboards. Also it is usb and not the aging ps2 that a lot of keyboards were.

CON:

-keys are not soft compared to the HP keyboards at my university, and the one on my dell 700m.

-The keys are designed very close together, so there doesn't seem to be much of a gap between them. This might prove good for cleaning, since not alot debris can fall in the gaps.

-With the above 2 CONS, it seems I am more prone to mistyping on this keyboard. May have to get a different one soon.

-The home, insert, page layout is compact and gets confusing if you are use to a full size keyboard layout.

5Good basic keyboard - black color may be a problemJul 28, 2010
This is a good basic, inexpensive keyboard from a reliable manufacture, Logitech. It has one major flaw: white on black is a little more difficult to see than black on white. You may want to buy an LCD light to see the keys, especially if you use the keyboard under a table, away from a light source.

5Great KeyboardJul 27, 2010
I am very pleased with this keyboard and it has help up for over a year now.

3Cheap KeyboardJul 16, 2010
This was the cheapest non-wireless keyboard I could find that included a numeric keypad. The price is the best thing about this product. The keys aren't soft enough to type on and don't provide good feedback when pressing them down. Also, I don't care for the layout of the Home, Insert, and Delete keys. They are position vertically (instead of horizontally) to save space.
