Reliable FireWire HubMay 15, 2009
By Chris Hart
"MyMacTech"
I have this FireWire hub running 24/7 with my Apple MacMini media center / server (no sleep enabled, so it's active all day). There are 10 external FW400 hard drives connected to it (first set of 5 connected directly, the second set of 5 connected to the first set of drives via firewire daisy-chaining). This unit has worked perfectly in this setup.

Compact and CapableNov 23, 2008

Judging from the available products, I guess there are not too many of us left that prefer wires over wireless. I proudly admit to being one of those digital Luddites. If you're reading this review, you must be one too. I replaced an extremely troublesome ADS USA/Firewire combo unit with this Belkin Firewire hub and a separate USB hub. I like the compactness of this Belkin unit, which was one of the primary reasons for purchasing it over others. There are no special or Whiz-Bang features to talk about, it's just a solid device that does the job. It's been trouble free for a month now.

Just What I neededSep 18, 2010
By Richard Clark Since I recently purchased the new Apple iMac I needed more than one Firewire port. I have several peripherals (scanner, ext. HD) to hook up to the iMac. The mini hub was the answer. Hooked it up, plugged in the peripherals, and I was up and running! Product just works great for me!

By Ex_4wd I have two of these hubs daisy chained together connecting eight external hard drives and they both work fine.
