Great notebookSep 23, 2008
By Nicklaus Deyring I've bought so many of these and use them daily, I have to review this product with 5 stars. Excellent paper, and is the perfect design for my use. High quality binding, with perforated paper that doesn't shred on it's own but is easy to remove without leaving what my 5th grade teacher called 'mouse marks' from the wire-binding. When I'm running low, I go out and buy 5 more of these. A+

Good size, well made, solid spirals, pages don't easily fall outAug 26, 2012
By Ophelia Mourns Anytime you buy a spiral notebook there's always the risk of the spiral on either end becoming a sort of "knife" that can actually draw blood, lol, or the serrations are such that the pages come apart easily. Neither is the case with this particular notebook (and maybe why it costs more). I like hardcover notebooks (they tend to last longer, IMO), so this was perfect. I like that just a slight tug on a page doesn't make the page separate from where it's serrated. The paper itself is just thick enough you don't have see-through issues (though of course I'd imagine a heavy black marker would obviously show through, unless the paper was at least 24 lb), and the pages have a slight sheen to them. I'm a notebook nut (I have a notebook for everything--bill paying; computer-related issues; things to do; daily diary/journal; technology-related matters; my Comcast 24/7 tech support I pay for every month, which pays for itself after just one call; health-related--so I'm pretty picky about my notebooks).
I like it well enough I think I'll stick with this particular brand/type, and would recommend it to others.

My buddy, Black n' RedApr 26, 2011

This is the basic Black 'n Red casual notebook. Nothing fancy but you get the expected B'n R quality.
- (double) Spiral bound - it lays flat - One sheet with 'personal info', 'guide to contents' and 'important contact details' sections on the first page and world map with time zones and conversions on the second. - 70, easily detachable lined sheets (140 pages) - The elegant Black 'n Red hard covers
Whenever I'm taking notes on 'paper', which I must do from time to time, I love doing it on Black 'n Reds.

Sturdy construction. Great notebook.Mar 24, 2013
By Scott Bridges I've had a couple Black n' Red products in the past. This notebook will now be my go-to notebook. Paper quality is great. Construction lasts (lots of traveling).
My only request would be a college ruled option.

Great paper, Stylish look, but was hoping for a bit more.Apr 10, 2011
By Rob Mattheu I recently bought a large hardbound Black N Red notebook and was impressed with its binding and paper. Being as it was a bit big for day to day use, I then bought this Black N Red Hardcover notebook. While the paper, binding, cover and quality all are as good as I would expect from the original notebook I bought, I was disappointed in two things. One, the glossy cover makes the book look cheap, and two, the paper has relatively wide rule for such small pages. Still, it's a great, durable book suitable for taking notes, using as a journal, or as a classy notebook.
Recommended.
