 Works with MacBook running Windows XP in Parallels !!Aug 28, 2008

If you STILL must connect to an RS-232 controlled device or two like I do, and are tired of buying the few laptops available with serial ports, this may be the answer. Several of my fellow workers (with Windows machines,) have tried many of the USB-Serial adapters available. We could not find one that worked for us, until now.
Further, I am running the all the Windows based control software programs using XP in Parallels on my MacBook. Before this solution, I was carrying two laptops with me.
Note: The IO Gear GUC232a is probably identical to this ATEN. Online searches resulted in the same drivers for both products.

the product arrived fast in good condition. The software disc with the drivers could be laid out a bit better, but some common sense and you can find the correct driver you need. Installation was quick. I had to reassign the COM port the adapter was setup on, but after that this adapter worked perfectly.
I am very please with this purchase.
