 Quiet, good price - not very durableMay 13, 2002

Very quiet, high quality motor. I put this one in our apartment complex's workout room. It worked quite well, with kudos to the sturdy round base and wide adjustment range on the head (you can tilt it straight up).However, after three weeks the retaining ring for the grill vibrated loose, which resulted in significant (though repairable) damage. We had a similar model in our office last summer. Ran it 60+ hours a week for months, no problem. The first time it tipped over, onto a hardwood floor, a blade broke and that was it. Overall this fan is good for the price, but if your usage and/or handling is heavy, then consider spending more for a more durable brand.

This is an outstanding fan. I am one of those people that must sleep with a fan on at night. I've had my Holmes fan for 10 years and it's still going. I take the front grill and disassemble the plastic parts and clean them in warm water about every 6 months to get all the dust off of it. When I recently cleaned it, I screwed the front part (that goes over the blades) and it finally broke. Just wanted to share a 10-year experience with this fan - I've had to sleep with a fan on at night since i was a baby and this is seriously the longest lasting fan I've owned.

I love this fan!! It was simple to put together. It's made out of metal not plastic and thus is not easily tipped over like those plastic fans. I received excellent service from the vendor - Shoplet. I received the fan within two days of ordering.

This is a nice fan it puts out a lot of air,(especially if you remove the front grill), but the oscillation feature doesn't allow for a very wide field of travel. When it oscillates it only moves a few inches in either direction. All other fans I've ever used have had a pretty standard amount of oscillation. This fan has a 'sub-standard' amount of travel in it's oscillation attachment.
